I confess. Before learning about SEO software and website marketing industry, I thought Google was great. I Used Google to look for everything from celebrities, to pictures, to articles to weird objects and completely trusted the findings. Then I heard about SEO software and a whole industry focused on website marketing, and things were never the same. But even prior to my discovery, having done a bit of introspective reading, I got a hunch that search engines, Google included, know far from all, and pass on to the users a fraction of that.

My Google escapades soon convinced me that Flikr is a better image data bank, that with the assistance of Digg I can access great current events coverage without having to rummage through Google search findings (rummaging seems more descriptive than Google search), and people search is best managed by Facebook. It seems like every time I search for odd gadgets on Google, the results are often inaccurate, to put it kindly. Try Googling for SEO applications and other SEO connected subjects on Google and you are almost ready to lose your self-control. I mean, tell me, what’s the relationship between SEO programs and employment webpages or Internet casinos? Turns out in my distress.

In this respect, I am a firm advocate of SEO applications and non-paid search. If it was all about the cash, the Fortune giants would squish me before I knew it. And there are 1000 organizations on the Fortune list! But here is something else that irks me and other check backlinks users, I am certain. There are individuals who invest in SEO programs and use them to sell shoeson casino sites and the like. What we are given is junk that not only pervades the web but is also highly positioned by Google.

What is the public reaction to this? They search for SEO product reviews and will instead find junk content. They get disillusioned. So much for the “Internet fairness”. Does this imply that SEO software and service field is harmful? Not necessarily.

The abusers of SEO products have to stop polluting the Net but it’s like asking hackers to stop cracking the code. The unfortunate thing about it is that black hat SEOs are abusing the opportunity to be noticeable on the Net that is given to the random person like myself. For now people just have to tolerate them. One can only hope that Google will put more effort into spotting the schemers abusing SEO software, and if Google doesn’t, the next search engine will.
